Cork South–West is a parliamentary constituency represented in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish parliament or Oireachtas. The constituency elects 3 deputies (Teachtaí Dála, commonly known as TDs). The method of election is the single transferable vote form of proportional representation (PR-STV). == History and boundaries == It was created for the 1961 general election. The constituency encompasses the Bandon, Bantry and Skibbereen electoral areas of Cork County Council. It is a largely rural constituency, with many medium-sized towns, and runs from Dursey Island in the west to Ringabella in the east.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/2009/en/act/pub/0004/sched.html )〕 The Electoral (Amendment) Act 2009 defines the constituency as: :"The county of Cork, except the parts thereof which are comprised in the constituencies of Cork East, Cork North–Central, Cork North–West and Cork South–Central."
